isn't it nice to know?

APRIL?!

It’s been a while since I’ve put anything new and exciting up here, so I’ll try to my best right now to catch up :) And I can’t believe it’s APRIL. When did that happen and where did March go? This morning it was snowing. In April. Grr. Anyways…on to news and such.

1) Allegheny ARC came to visit my Exceptional Learners class yesterday :) It wasn’t actually at our regular class time, so I had to get up rather early, but it was worth it. Basically it’s a group for people with special needs to learn how to be self-advocates. They can take classes, set goals, get jobs, and make friends together, and they are all super funny. They told us their stories and how school was for them- some of them weren’t treated very well in schools because of their disabilities.

This one guy named Jason was hysterical- he was a ladies man. He wanted to go to the girl’s dorm and he was quite taken with all the girls in the class. He asked me if I would take a picture with him for the “newsletter,” but after the picture he was like “Oooh I have a girlfriend!” And I was like, well…..that’s not a good idea. Haha  :) They were so funny and had amazing stories.

2) Dan played with the other Koin leaders at the Koin coffee house the other night.

3) Hosted a media fast on my floor with my brother floor in Roth- we had a pizza party to kick it off :) We gave up media (at varied levels of commitment) for the weekend and played games and stuff instead. It was fun and nice to not worry about keeping up with the internet.

4) Got some new TOMS- I wore my blue ones to the bone :)

5) Dad sent me a huge box of bubble wrap! IT WAS AMAZING. My floor loves it.

6) Watched a promotional video for Houghton from the 50’s. It was hysterical :)

7) Volunteered for MLK service day with next year’s RA’s…we went to the Comfort House: a huge house being converted into a home for 2 families with terminally ill patients to live. It’s being totally renovated, so we were basically cleaning and vacuuming all the dust so they could continue, hence the mask.

So basically this has been the busiest semester ever! So sorry for not updating everyone more…but I’m rather busy. Okay well there you go  :)
